We work with all insurance companies
It’s your car, so it’s your choice who repairs it. We have working relationships with all car insurance companies. All you need to do is call us or drop in to see us in Lichfield Street when you’ve had an accident and need to make a repair claim. We can assist you in making your claim, and then when we have received approval, we can handle the rest with your insurance company.
Sometimes an insurer will try and make you use their nominated repairer – but it’s really just their suggestion – who you use is entirely up to you.

Our simple 8-step accident repair process
This is how the accident or collision repair process works at Specialised Panel and Paint. We’ll get you back on the road, with a high-quality repair in these 8 simple steps.
- Ring us or come and see us
When you’ve had your ding, call us or, better still, drop into our workshop in Lichfield Street. The choice of repairer is all yours. Your insurance cannot force you to go somewhere that suits them. But if your first call is to your insurance company, make sure you NOMINATE us as your repairer.
- We’ll assess your repair and book your loan car
We’ll arrange to assess your car. There is no charge for assessment. If your car is undrivable, we’ll get you into a loan car immediately. We aim to get underway with your repair as soon as possible. However, sometimes there can be a delay beyond our control if parts need to come from overseas.
- Prepare your car for repair
We’ll strip down your car as necessary and get it ready to be repaired.
- Panel repair or removal
Once the car is stripped down we’ll repair or replace damaged panels, and complete the repair work.
- Paint undercoating
When all the repairs are complete we undercoat the panels ready for their computer colour-matched top coat.
- Oven baking
After undercoating, your car goes into the oven for high-quality, flawless spray painting by our qualified paint technicians.
- Reassembly and inspection
When the car is finished in the paint baking oven it’s reassembled, cleaned, and given a final inspection.
- Completion and return
Once your car has passed its final inspection, we sign it off as completed and let you know it’s ready to go. You can either come and pick it up here, or we can arrange to drop it off for you.
